How to install driver and set up COM for Z-TEK to RS232 converter

It’s aimed to help install driver and set up com port for the Z-TEK USB 1.1 to RS232 convert cable.

First, you need a working Z-TEK USB 1.1 to RS232 convert cable

Then, download Z-TEK driver though www.obdii365.com

Finally, here goes to the Z-TEK driver installation…

Insert the disk on the laptop

Open Z-TEK (E:) disk and unzip ZE394.zip to Desktop

Open the ZE394 folder on Desktop,

Then =ia+ (the first folder)-> Windows All-> WinXP_vista_7.0_x86_x64

Open the setup E1F1_ZTEK_1912_20140518

Install Z-Tek USB-to-Serial on PC

Click on Next to go on

Successfully installed Z-Tek USB-to-Serial, click on Finish

Wizard help to install software for Z-Tek USB-to-Serial com port

Select “install…automatically”, then click on Next

Finished!

Open Computer management

Find out Z-Tek USB-to-Serial com port (it’s com6 now)

In the properties, go to Port settings-> Advanced…-> setup Com port number: COM2

Then click on OK, OK

Click for scanning Plug and Play compliant hardware…

It’s Z-Tek USB-to-Serial com port (COM2) after setup

Then go to properties again

Again, go to Port settings-> Advanced…-> setup Com port number: COM7

Then click on OK, OK

Click for scanning Plug and Play compliant hardware…

This time, it’s Z-Tek USB-to-Serial com port (COM7)

Now, you can use your Z-TEK USB 1.1 to RS232 convert connector at ease.
