The MDI came ready to use with the software installed. It worked since I already had Tech2Win, GDS2 and GM MDI Manager installed on my laptop. It works extremely well and I have no problems with it. The product image at the time I order showed the cable keeper, A/C 12 volt adapter and multiple diagnostic interface user’s guide CD which is used to install the MDI manager software on your laptop. These items were not included. It also said it was Wifi but did not come with a wireless card but with a wireless interface instead. There are two versions of GM MDI interface on China market, cheaperMDI less than US$180 with only USB connection and the other more expensive with wifi wireless connection.

The product would work excellent if you had the MDI manager software already on your laptop.

My device tested with many cars for 4 months. Device works with GDS2 (Opel). Device works with Tech2Win. (Opel, Hammer)

Device not works with SAAB via Tech2Win.

Tested by my own, works with Saab 9-5, 2003, 3.0 It works with tis2000 and tech2win NAO.

My MDI clone works fine with tech2win and also TIS2000 software. Used it for diags and pcm flashing with no problem (through usb port only, cause wifi is unstable for programming functions).

Added a wireless card to that one too, same flawless performance.. Only issue for me is that they all have the same serial number.. So using 2 of them in the same shop with wireless would be impossible..

compared boards from a genuine to this clone, almost identical.. multiple layer pcbs, same tracers, didn’t see any difference except the board labeling was missing on the clone. Wifi GM mdi good, interface works online. update mdi 100%. offline not that good for new cars.

Nissan Consult III Plus Ver.46.30 works on MDI interface as well (this is not tested by me, your are on your risk).

I have wired up the same, but using a cable and a bluetooth ODB2 adapter, I can use TORQUE on the Android platform. BMW ICOM D cable ICOM-D Motorcycles Motobikes Diagnostic Cable Is the cable. I ordered mine from a different place, for a whopping $12 with $ shipping. High quality cable. Better than I expected. I plugged in my OBDII bluetooth adapter (cheapie from Amazon). Using TORQUE, I am able to get O2 readings, throttle response, etc. Using this, and a contour gps camera (or the torque app), I can record with GPS location and overlay throttle, lean angle, etc. onto video footage. Much better than wiring the cables yourself... and a turnkey solution to boot!

Open I-2015_SP1_33.11 folder on CD

Install Setup

Enter 6-digit Serial Number/SN of your VCI interface

Please wait until the software complete installation. Usually it will take about 30 minutes.

This time select “Yes,I want to restart my computer now” and press Finish.

The computer will reboot automatically.

5) Install I-2015_SP2_V33.21

Open Software CD

Open I-2015_SP2_V33.21 folder

Install Setup

Enter 6-digit Serial Number/SN of your VCI interface

Please wait until the software complete installation. Usually it will take about 30 minutes.

Select restart computer now and wait the computer reboot

6) Install Multi-diag driver

Connect Multi-Daig J2534 Pass-Thru interface VCI with computer

Computer will detect hardware wizard

Select “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)”,click Next

Browse folder to C:/ACTIA/Drivers VCI/PTIG

Hardware driver install complete. Click Finish

7) Configure Multi-diag VCI

Browse to C:/ACTIA/ Multi-Di@g /AT530 folder

Click AT530cfg

Select Multi-Diag configuration windows

Click Communication Interface

Select USB- Universal Serial Bus, click Yes

Select VCI serial number

Press OK

VCI serial number registered. Press OK

Exit the windows

Open at530

Check Program Information, you will see program version, serial number etc

8) Run Multidiag 2015.01 Software

Open Device Manager-> I+ML ACTIA XS Device->PassThru XS USB Driver to check if driver is well installed

Open Multi-diag software on desktop

Select vehicle make, model, module (i.e Engine) and function i.e Injection

System prompts “Your Multi-diag subscription will end within 0 days.” Press Tick icon to proceed.

Communication interface update.

Computer will detect hardware wizard

Select “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)”,click Next

Browse folder to C:/ACTIA/Drivers VCI/PTIG

Hardware driver install complete. Click Finish

Check VCI interface is well connected (Device Manger->ACTIA USB Devices->USB PassThru Devices)

If the system prompts “The vehicle communication card cannot be reached, confirm to try again, Cancel to ignore”, press Tick icon.

With great efforts, I finally succeeded to find a way to install VCM2 Ford and Mazda IDS V99 without VMware player.

Here are my steps:

1- Set date in bios on 6.august 2015

2- Fresh install WIN7

3- Install calibration file 81

4- Install IDS v86 driver

5- Reboot computer

6- Patch

7- Reboot computer

8- Connect VCM and start it

9- Write you about licence to continue

10- Pop up message about 3 days expiration licence,

11- Close all & unplug VCM 2 diagnostic scanner

12- Install Mazda IDS software 99 version

13-Reboot

14- Plug in VCM II and start the program to test for diagnostics/ programming.

15- If all is ok, then turn off IDS, unplug VCM & install freeze software

ALL IS OK.

NOTE: Don’t forget to FIRST SET THIS DATE IN BIOS, before starting the computer with win7 and IDS anytime!!!!!!!!

I installed this for nearly 20 times on windows 7 operating system. During this, I read lots of tutorials of IDS and VCM installation but only this one work for me without virtual machine . Hope my solution help someone in need also.

Ps. here Mazda IDS version 99.01 i tried is from a forum and this work without problem. Flashing too. Many thanks to the provider for this version.

Conflicted with my programming “career” since i bought a clone Ford VCM2 from China days ago.but luckily, all is solved finally.

At the beginning, i thought i bought a bad VCMII for lack of SD slot. But in fact, there existed a slot but no SD card. The reset button on the vcm ii unit is used for software update, the vendor said.

I tried on different computers but all the time, Ford IDS v98 popped up the same error message:

I can diagnose on s-max but still failed to program.

But the engineer said it explained all for programming failure before!!

Cars with fault/ troubleshoot cannot be programmed!!!

Then i went to diagnosis, and this time, programming on S-Max ’2006 is ok.

Here is the final solution to Porsche PIWIS tester 2 VCI Self-Check Not Working,Hard Disk Data Lost issue.

Note: Here we mentioning Porsche Tester with power-on password Porsche2018.

Follow these steps: Tip 1, If the Piwis PIWIS tester self-check function is not working, do not click [Settings] – [VCI Configuration], otherwise you will get error. Tip 2, Piwis hard disk is not compatible with other computer, but only CF30 packed with Piwis tester 2.Do not take out the hard disk from the CF30 laptop and install it on other computers, otherwise the data maybe get lost and hard to recover.
