This article is about to bring you 3 ways to solve the problem of insufficient storage space for Autel Diagnostic Scanners.

Generally, there are 3 methods as below:

1.Use a micro SD to improve storage

2.Uninstall unneeded vehicle apps

3.Factory reset

Method 1. SD card

Users do need a SD card to expand storage space. Besides, it’s necessary to backup apps you need by SD card.
 

What size should your SD card be?

Generally, for tools like MK808/MX808, their max storage capacity is 32gigs, so you may need a 32-gig SD card. For higher-end tools like MK908P, some would go up to 128gigs, even Ultra up to 256gigs.

When your tablet didn’t have enough memory space, it’ll give you some tips such as how big and what format the SD card you should buy.

Besides, storage space of each vehicle app is: app size*4+550MB. You can consider by this formula.

Method 2.Uninstall apps

Note: If you tablet is out of update subsciption, Do Not uninstall any app before you get a backup.

How to delete apps you don’t need?

1)Go to

ES File Explorer>>Local>>sdcard>>Scan>>Vehicle

Select vehicle area (Europe/USA/Asia...).

Hold on setup package to check it and click on “Delete”.

2)Delete vehicle app in download file if there is.

Path: ES File Explorer>>Local>>sdcard>>Scan>>Download

3)Delete vehicle app in Data Manager.

Go to

Data Manager>>Apps Uninstall

In Diagnosis&Service, select app to delete.

Method 3.Factory Reset

Note: If you tablet is out of software subsciption, Do Not perform factory reset before you get a backup.

How to do factory reset?

Go to

System Settings>>Reset>>Factory data reset

Check “Erase SD card”

Click on “Reset tablet”.

Alright, these are 3 ways to fix Autel tablets’ insufficient storage space in general.

Here comes the solution to the storage full problem when updating OBDSTAR DP (DiagProgam) software.

Error “DiagProgram could not be installed. Clear space and try again.”

Reason:
When the device software is running, a large amount of cache is generated when communicating with the car or module. After long-term accumulation, the C drive has insufficient memory and cannot be installed.

Solution:
1. Provide the serial number of the corresponding OBDSTAR device. We will send you the appropriate upgraded firmware and operating instructions based on the machine model. The problem of insufficient memory on the C drive can be solved by flashing the firmware.

2. After flashing the firmware, the device will be reset to its factory state. You need to reconnect to WiFi and log in to your account in the DP software. Then re-download all programs.

3. After flashing the firmware, all files backed up by the device will be cleared. Please back up the important files to a USB flash drive or computer before flashing.

What other benefits can flashing firmware bring to you?
1. First, after flashing, we will reallocate the hard disk space. The problem of insufficient space when installing DP will no longer appear.
2. The new firmware program includes OTA function, which can support one-click system upgrade. If the device is subsequently upgraded with more auxiliary functions or system optimization, customers do not need to flash the firmware to upgrade, and can directly download it with one click on the device intranet.

Problem:

I have a problem with a secondhand Launch X431 diagnostic scanner, I cannot activate it. It says this vci has been registered under another account.

How to log in to the device?

If yours is new and was never linked it seems that they have the serial numbers mixed up or you entered a number wrong and its the number of one that already active. Contact your dealer to double-check.

If your device is secondhand, you cannot unlink the machine once it’s linked to an account. This device is registered by another user who created user name and password for it. Contact the previous device owner or seller to send you the login information.

It will need to stay in that person’s name. You cannot change login user name. After login you can change password and email address.

2021 Launch X431 Tutorial: Reset Password and Change Registered Email

Here is another solution from users. You are at your risk.

Open google app preinstalled in your Launch x431. Click web address and type ” launch”, launch address will be revealed.

Reset launch app in settings, then register again. You will be verified online using your device serial number. Once your device is recognized the launch app will restart. Go to profile and activate the vci firmware. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Method:
use BOOT TOOLS BOX
1: Read out the INTFLASH and EPROM
2: zip the file and send to email INFO@DFB-TECHNOLOGY.COM
3: we send back the patched file
4: user write back the Intflash

 How to correct Ford Escape 2018 (color cluster) odometer with obdstar tools (x300 dp plus or odomaster) via OBD.

OBDSTAR will correct mileage for the following Escape (Keep updating…)

Here is an example of Escape 2018 full digital cluster.

Original KM: 139,391 km

Select Odometer->Ford/Lincoln->latest software version->Auto select system

The function requires online access. Connect x300dp plus with network.
If failed to auto select, it can be network issue, change good network connection, press Retary and proceed.

Select Type 1 (Color Meter)

OBDSTAR asks to backup eeprom before correcting mileage.
Read eeprom

Cluster turns black, it is normal.
Save eeprom

Select Odometer Recalibration function.

Input mileage you desired, i.e 39,391km and confirm

OBDSTAR x300 dp plus changed Escape 2018 mileage successfully. Check mileage on dashboard, it is not exactly the same but very close.

Done.

How to Install VXDIAG GM GDS2 and Tech2win?

1. Install DPS 4.52

2. Install Tech2win using the AutoInstall.exe file
3. Install GDS2 using the AutoInstall.exe file

4. Install VX Manager (install passthru and GDS2/T2W drivers)
5. Run software (run GDS2 from patch, run Tech2win on desktop)

NOTE:

Before installing GDS 2023.10.19 software, must install DPS 4.52 software, otherwise GDS2 will report errors.

 We’re working on a 2020 Nissan Altima. It’s push button start start button here by the gear shifter. It’s all keys lost and we’re using the Autel MaxiIM KM100 and the universal ikey.

Step 1: Generate the universal key.

Select vehicle Altima 2020.

Select this option (Altima 2019-2020 433Mhz ID4A without the remote start), click Generate Universal key.

Universal key generation is completed,  press complete.

Step 2: Program Key

We’ll go to immo function.

Turn on the hazard warning lights, open and close the door, turn on the ignition,  can’t turn it, just say okay.

Go to IMMO Smart system->Remote control learning->Smart Key Learning.

It’s going to delete all keys, press yes, hazards are on. ignition off.

Autel KM100 says the BCM number is on the blacklist, proceed with caution.

Press Yes.

Place the smart key to be learned against the ignition switch

We’re going to take our key and we’re going to press it one time up against the button and hold it in front of the button, press it one time better press than that cluster should come on.

Switch ignition off so we going to press it again, switch it off.

Program success, press No, not program next one.

Press the Start button, put 1st smart key close to the Start button, if buzzer rings continuously, turn off ignition.

Programming complete check if the remote control is operating properly.

Start the engine wait for 5 seconds.

Let’s take out key shut off the hazards

Let’s try the remote unlock.

There’s no errors on the dashboard we shut it off try again.

Perfect all keys lost 2020 Nissan Altima use the Autel KM100 and universal ikey.

 Problem:

Someone here in the shop hook up my yanhua mini acdp with an old yanhua cable for FEM and hook up the power to the cable instead to the yanhua and the FEM starts to blink, I assume the fem was damaged and I purchase another fem but when i try to ready it normally with power to the yanhua with the adapter, not with that cable and read fine but after a few minutes that module give me the same problem, can you guys tell me what part of the equipment is damage or damaging fem or what is going on?

You can do a self-test by yourself.

Go to Special Function->ACDP Check->Device IO/DDR Self Check

Check the self test result and report to your dealer.

 One of the obdii365.com customers reported that he failed to program a 2022 Toyota 4Runner US proximity and ran into this problem on the Autel IM508.

Error: The current smart main ECU software version number is Not Supported?

Solution:

Confirmed by Autel engineer. Autel won’t backup immo data for this software version as it said the ECU software number is not supported.

Get code send to a vendor or nastaf for outcode. Reset box, add key. Will need to send off code again for the outcode. Program key.

Same as SmartPro, it will also ask to input the data through NASTF.

Problem:

Trying to program an Autel ikey universal key to a 2018 ford edge with Autel KM100, anyone see this message before?

Error “The Universal Key Frequency is Not Supported”

Solution:

There are high frequency and low frequency keys when trying to generate Ford’s.

Need the 900mhz high frequency Ford style universal ikeys. You’ve got the low frequency one in there; replace with a high frequency one (with H or A as the 6th digit).

Only IKEYFD005AH and IKEYFD004AH ikey remotes can be used to generate 868Mhz-915Mhz remote.
