Xhorse MQB48 Adapter and KYDZ MQB48 Adapter Comparison
Both Xhorse and KYDZ released MQB48 adapter for VAG MQB48 NEC35XX immo data collection. With these adapters, we don’t need to disassemble the instrument but only the key. With low risk, simple operation, it can add keys for most MQB48 keys.
Which MQB48 adapter is better?
Pros:
No token or points to collect data.
Large coverage. Supports VDO, NEC35XX, JCI RH850 clusters. Prox, bladed, digital cluster.
Don’t need to remove cluster to read data.
More stable, better support and has more positive feedback.
will generate MQB remote using xhorse key tool and MQB remote.
Cons:
Need to replace an enhanced chip to use MQB48 function (check instruction here, but don’t need to switch back to use MLB function again).
MLB Tool only collects data, you need key tool plus or vvdi2 to generate dealer key and learn key.
Cannot directly show cs, pin code. need to load file to key tool plus or vvdi2 to show cs and pin.
Need to remove just 1 capacitor and solder back.
KYDZ MQB48 Adapter:
Pros:
Don’t need to modify hardware to use the mqb48 adapter.
It will show CS and pin.
No need to remove capacitor on key board.
Cons:
It is separate hardware. To collect data for MLB and MQB48, you need 2 separate hardware adapters. while Xhorse just 1 device.
Have to pay 10-15 dollars for the token. Extra $10-15 per token after used up.
Generate MLB dealer key with MLB tool, then program key with its MQB programmer.
Inmodata 16 byte from the xhorse key does not ask you token, stick with xhorse.
Add 2023 Maserati Ghibli Key using Lonsdor K518 Pro via OBD
In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps to program a spare smart key for a 2023 Maserati Ghibli using the Lonsdor K518 Pro key programmer.
Tools and Equipment Needed:
– **Original smart key** (for authentication)
– **New smart key** (to be programmed)
– **Lonsdor K518 Pro Programming tool** (specific to the vehicle’s make and model)
– **FCA 12+8 gateway adapter
NOTE: add key only. K518 Pro cannot do all keys lost yet.
Step-by-Step Process
Function requires 12+8 SGW adapters. Connect gateway adapter and k518 pro device with vehicle.
Go to Immo & Remote- Maserati- Select from vehicle- Ghibli- 2016-2023
Backup immo data (obd)
Turn off ignition switch and turn on emergency lights.
Reading data in 2 minutes.
EEPROM is saved.
Select Add smart key.
Select eeprom just saved.
Turn off ignition switch and turn on emergency lights.
Keep only one smart key needed to be programmed inside car and take other keys outside car.
Press the lock key or unlock key once.
Put the key on the Start button and press the Unlock button once within 30s.
Program completed.
Test the new key. Done.

Solution:
Not possibile on obd. Dismantle the bcm and read 93c66.
No support only on bench id48 transponder.

Problem:
Lonsdor K518 Pro suddenly does not communicate with any vehicle.
Solution:
Do an OBDII upgrade (update OBDII cable) and OBD hardware self-check.
