Will Yanhua Mini ACDP Repair BMW CAS3+ ISTAP Module?
Problem:
During a BMW CAS3+ downgrade, the Yanhua Mini ACDP2 device froze and the operation failed. Now the CAS3+ (ISTAP) module shows no VIN or config options, and all keys are not working. I’ve heard of a ‘downgrade failure’ recovery option for CAS3, but it’s not showing up in the tool menu. Can Yanhua ACDP device repair this CAS module?
Solution:
Yes, Yanhua ACDP will repair BMW CAS3+ ISTAP module if downgrade failed and is corrupted.
Menu path:
IMMO Programming- BMW- CAS1 to 4- CAS3/CAS3+.
Select OBD Mode– IMMO Function.
Go to Special Function.
Choose ISTAP original repair.
NOTE: The repair is done via OBD mode rather than ICP mode. Connect the ACDP with the vehicle OBD port and make sure the vehicle has enough battery supply. DO NOT cut off power nor unplug the devce during the operation.
*ISTAP original repair and ISTAP downgrade repair are the same. Select original software version and repair the bricked module.
For CAS3+ istap, better do it via ICP mode using ACDP solder free adapter. You will always be encouraged to pull cas and do it on bench.

Lonsdor K518 Pro Failed to Read VW Polo MQB49 5C Key Data Solution
Problem:
Trying to make a key for a 2019 VW Polo, Normal key not proximity. 5c chip. Tried using both adapters that are in the shape of the key. Lonsdor K518 failed to read original key data with the MQB49 5C adapter.
It reported an error “Data reading failed. Error code Unlock failed ret=25”. Any solution?
Solution:
Check the connection diagram carefully. You need to solder one wire from the key circuit board to the 5C interface board, as shown in the diagram. Then try again, and it should work.
Not for all key types. For this type of key, solder 1 wire to the board.
If reading the original key data for BMW BDC2 or BDC3 fails (error code 25), check if need to solder 1 wire to the board as well.
OBDSTAR iScan Series Screen Replacement Guide
Tutorail: How to replace the touch screen and mainboard of OBDSTAR P50, OdoMaster and iScan motorcycle/iScan Marine series devices.
Step 1: Use an electric screwdriver (or screwdriver) to remove the 4 screws securing the back cover.

Step 2: Carefully open the back cover and remove the battery cable and speaker cable.

Step 3: Use an electric screwdriver (or screwdriver) to remove the 2 fixing screws on the Android motherboard.
And unplug the antenna cable by hand.

Step 4: Grasp both ends of the Android motherboard and pull it upward to remove it.

Step 5: Remove the fixing screws on the VCI mainboard. Tear off the acetate cloth on the touch screen and display cable.

Step 6: Remove the power switch button. Then lift it upwards, open the display and touch screen cable clips, remove the cable, and then remove the VCI mainboard.

Step 7: Tear off the acetate cloth and remove the light guide. Use your hands to push open the display screen positioning latch and remove the display screen.

Step 8: Replace the new display screen and reinstall the acetate paper and light guide column.

Step 9: Pass the display and touch screen cables through the middle of the VCI mainboard, and then align the VCI mainboard with the machine’s locking screws and insert it.

Step 10: Reinstall the VCI mainboard fixing screws, power switch and cable acetate paper.

Step 11: Insert the Android mainboard into the VCI mainboard and install the fixing screws and antenna clips.

Step 12: Install the battery cable and speaker cable, and close the back cover.

Step 13: Put the rear cover screw back.

NOTE:
1. If you cannot boot or have other abnormalities after replacing the Android motherboard, pleas e contact after-sales. You need to provide your device serial number.
2. If the display is abnormal after replacing the display screen, please contact after-salesand provide your device serial number;
3. When you need to replace the VCI motherboard, please contact the dealer to synchronize your account information and provide the serial numbers of the new and old VCI motherboards.
FYI: If your OBDSTAR P50/Odomaster/iScan scanners cannot turn on even when connected to a power supply,
Possible Causes:
- Battery is depleted.
- Mainboard failure.
Troubleshooting and Solutions:
1. Connect the device to the power adapter and check whether the power indicator light turns on.
If the indicator light shows red, this indicates the device is charging. Allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power it on again.
If the device powers on, the issue was caused by a depleted battery. Fully charge the battery to resolve the issue.
If the device still does not power on, the problem is not battery-related.
Remove the back cover, disconnect the battery cable, and power the device directly via the mainboard (using the power adapter). Check if the device powers on.
If it powers on, the battery is faulty and requires replacement.
If it still does not power on, the issue is unrelated to the battery.
After ruling out battery issues, the problem is likely due to a faulty Android mainboard. Replacement of the Android mainboard is recommended.
2. If the power indicator light does not turn on at all when the power adapter is connected:
Try connecting the device to a vehicle’s power supply using the OBD main cable. If the indicator light turns on and the device powers up, the power adapter is defective and needs to be replaced.
If the device still shows no response even when powered via the vehicle:
The Android mainboard is most likely faulty. Replace the Android mainboard first to eliminate this possibility.
If replacing the Android mainboard does not resolve the issue, the VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) mainboard is likely defective and requires replacement.
Launch X431 Pro3S+ Smartlink HD AutoVin Not Working?
Problem:
Tried to diagnose a Hino truck 2011 using Launch X431 Pro3S+ smartlink HD diagnostic scanner, but autovin failed to decode vehicle information. Any idea?
Solution:
Heavy duty does not support AutoVIN feature.
Need to select vehicle model and year manually.
If manual selection not working, do a firmware Fix and try again.
Launch Creader 2.0 Scanner Firmware Update Failed Solution
Problem:
The software (BMW V51.66) and firmware (V12.12) have been successfully installed on the Launch Creader 2.0 BBA diagnostic scanner. However, when actually connecting to a vehicle or scanning the VIN, the system immediately displays a “Firmware update failed” error message. Also attempted a factory reset, cleared the cache, and used a mobile hotspot to perform a “firmware repair,” but all attempts failed.
Solution:
The solution goes to other Creader series scanners with firmware V12.12 as well.
Solution for Launch CRP Firmware (V12.12) update failure:
If the firmware fix fails, please first download the firmware from the Update Center and then attempt the firmware fix again.
1. Connect to the network and access the Update Center.
2. Select the firmware file (V12.12) that needs to be re-downloaded, and click “Update” to initiate the download.

CGDI K2 Honda Activa Motorcycle Password Calculation
If you work with two-wheelers, you know that losing all keys for a modern Honda Activa BS6 equipped with a smart key system can be a major headache. Previously, you needed a dedicated, expensive tool just to read the password from the ECU. Now, thanks to a new update for the CGDI K2 key tool, you can do it all with one device.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to read the password from the Activa’s ECM and prepare to learn a new smart key—even when all original keys are lost.
What You’ll Need

Step 1: Connect the CGDI K2 to the Activa’s ECM
Before starting, ensure the CGDI K2 is powered on and properly connected to the Honda Activa’s ECM (Engine Control Module) using the correct cable harness. This allows the device to communicate directly with the immobilizer system and read the necessary security data.
Step 2: Navigate to the Honda Activa Motorcycle Password Calculation
Once the CGDI K2 is connected and powered:

Go to “More Functions” on the main menu.

Select “Honda Activa Motorcycle Password Calculation” – this option appears thanks to the latest update specifically for the Activa smart key system.
- Check wiring diagram
- Connect the renew cable to the ECM module according to the diagram.
Step 3: Read and Save the Data
With the connection verified:

Click on “Read Data.”

The CGDI K2 will begin reading the vehicle’s ECU data.

Once the reading is complete, the full data set will appear on the screen.
Important: Save this data immediately by clicking “Save” and then “Continue.” The device will confirm that the data has been saved successfully.
Step 4: Retrieve the Password
After saving the data:

Go to the “History” section on the CGDI K2.

The calculated password will be displayed.
This password is critical. It allows you to perform key learning (programming) on the vehicle, even if all original keys are lost.
