– Dimsport New Genius with RaceEVO
– Dimsport New Trasdata

What is the difference between them?

Dimsport, like Alientech, has been a prominent name in the tuning industry for many years. This longevity has influenced both the quality and the price of their products. Similar to the KESS3, the Dimsport New Genius comes with a higher price point and requires a yearly subscription fee. However, Dimsport lags slightly behind Alientech in one key area—you’ll need two separate tools to access the ECU through both OBD and Bench modes. This can be a disadvantage if you want complete coverage, as the New Genius is only designed for OBD use.

The Dimsport New Genius is Dimsport’s dedicated OBD tool, allowing you to read and write ECUs that are accessible through the OBD port. Tuning through OBD is widely considered the safest and easiest method. The New Genius boasts a solid vehicle list, covering cars, trucks, tractors, bikes, and marine applications, and is known for its stability and reliability.

One of the New Genius’s most notable advantages is its built-in screen, which allows you to read and write to the ECU without needing a laptop. While you’ll still need a laptop to edit the file or send it to someone for editing, this screen feature makes the New Genius especially popular among tractor tuners due to its extensive vehicle coverage and simple setup for reading and writing.

Dimsport offers the Genius and the Trasdata tuning tools, powered by their program Race 2000. The Genius is an OBD tuning tool. In many ways it is similar to Alientech Kess V2. The main difference being the Genius is handheld and has a touch screen. This does make it a nice tool to use without the need to take your lap top the car to tune it. However, a PC is still needed for reading the file from the Genius for either editing it or send on to a file provider. So the myth you don’t need a laptop when using a genius is incorrect.

Like the Alientech KESS3, the Dimsport New Genius is available in both master and slave versions, making it suitable for both professional tuners and beginners.

Despite needing two tools for full coverage, the Dimsport Trasdata is a high-quality Bench tool known for its stable and reliable connection throughout the tuning process. Like the New Genius, the Trasdata is available in both master and slave versions, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced tuners.

However, it’s important to note that the combination of the Dimsport New Genius and Trasdata comes at a higher cost compared to Alientech’s KESS3, which offers all these functionalities in a single tool. While Dimsport offers excellent tools, the combined price of the New Genius and Trasdata can make this option more expensive than the KESS3’s all-in-one solution.

The Trasdata tool is Dimsports bench tuning tool. (the Alientech equivalent was the K-TAG). This is the tuning device required when you need to remove the ECU for Boot mode tuning, or when performing service mode tuning direct to the ECU pins. The Trasdata is a good all-round tool with probe and adapters available to make connections as easy as possible.

Until now, there was not much in it between the combination of Alientechs Kess V2 and K-tag. And Dimsport’s Genius and Trasdata. Many tuners preferred the open file format of Alientech system leaving you free to use any editing software you wanted. Where as the Dimsport tools remained tied to their own Race2000 editing software. Limiting the tuners use and preference to software. The tie was eventually removed by Dimsport but only after many tuners had moved to other tools.

The Dimsport Trasdata is Dimsport’s dedicated Bench reading tool, designed to handle the ECUs that the Dimsport New Genius cannot access. To cover the entire Dimsport vehicle list, you’ll need both the Dimsport Trasdata and the New Genius. This is a notable difference from Alientech, where the KESS3 provides an all-in-one solution for OBD, Bench, and Boot mode.

Step 2.Register your Launch Creader CRE 2.0 serial number

After logging in as the shop owner, select “Manage Tools” from the left menu.

Click the “+ Add Tool” button

Select the manufacturer of LAUNCH.

Select the model of your tool (Choose Others).

Enter the serial number for your tool.

Click the “Add Tool” button. You may now see the LAUNCH Creader 2.0 in your list.

In Launch creader scanner, select Diagnose.

Select Chrysler brand-> 16 PIN

Launch will ask to unlock SGW. Press YES.

Select North America

Sign in your Autoauth account and password to unlock SGW.

SGW security gateway has been unlocked successfully.

Yes, You can read with confidence. Bench mode. This ECU is not locked.

How to Tell if PSA MD1CS003 ECU is Locked or Not?

Most MD1 ECUs after mid-2020 or later are locked. Have tried a few 2021 PSA and were locked.

For PSA MD1CS003 ECU, check part number.

Here is a tip to identify if this ECU is locked or not.

Locked 4xx Series
Not locked 3xx series.

For example, this ECU from a DS3 2022 is locked.

• BOSCH: 0 281 037 200 (MD1CS003)
• PEUGEOT: 98 457 808 80
• Date: 14 March 2022

Series 3xx is possible to be read and written.

The customer’s ECU is 98 337, and he can program smoothly.

Many programmers will read and write  MD1CS003 ECU if it is not locked, including foxflash, formulaflash, Xhorse Multi Prog, CG FC200, OBDSTAR DC706, Launch ecu programmer, Hextag, KESS3 and more.

 Autel also has a set of Toyota 8A blade key AKL adapters for repairing lost keys in TOYOTA/LEXUS cars. These adapters unlock the 8A chip without having to remove the immobilizer box.

Here we will show how to connect the Autel 8A blade AKL cable with Gbox2/3.

Example of use in Toyota Camry (each car may have different positions)
Step 1 Turn on the IM508/608,
enter the IMMO program->Toyota->Manual Selection->Camry->2015- -> Blade Key-> Control Unit-> Immobilizer (H 8A/8E) ->( All Keys Lost)
Step 2 Find the fuse box under the glove box. Remove the fuse IGN_No.1 (see the illustration below). Insert the IGN_FUSE in its place.

Step 3: Open the car hood to find the fuse box. Remove fuse number BAT_NO.1 and connect the B+ FUSE wire as shown in the picture.

Step 4: Remove the starter switch cover, pull out the KSW_NO.1 plug, and connect the KSW cable instead (as shown in the picture below).

Step 5 Connect the G-BOX and 8A AKL cable to the IM508/608 as shown in the figure below.

Step 6 The G-Box will automatically update for the first connection. The STATUS light on the G-Box will blink red and turn green after completion.

Step 7 Insert the key (without chip) and turn the key to ON.
Step 8 Press (OK) to read the information (it may take several minutes depending on the car model).
Step 9 Press (OK) to confirm the key type (SLK6) as shown in the image below.

Step 10 Connect APB112 to IM508/608. After connecting, the light will be blue indicating that it is ready to use.  Press (OK) to confirm the key type as shown in the picture below.

Step 11 APB112 will be updated the first time you connect.
Step 12 Simulator key generation is complete as shown in the figure below.

Step 13 Turn the key OFF, assemble the B+FUSE plug and IGN Fuse, KSW as before (assemble the car as before).
Step 14: Take the APB112 that was created as a simulator key and touch it to the side of the start switch, then insert the key (without the chip) and turn it ON
(now you can test the start).
Step 15 Press (OK) to connect the car, enter the Add Key menu,
turn the key OFF, pull it out and take out
the APB112 that was created as a simulator key.
Step 16 Insert the key (insert the H 8A chip), do not twist.
Step 17 Wait 5 to 180 seconds, key learning is successful, the immo light will be off.
Step 18 Test the start.

Fuse box under the storage compartment. Remove fuse IGN_No.1 (see illustration below). Insert IGN_FUSE in its place.


Open the car hood to find the fuse box, remove fuse number BAT_NO.1 and connect the B+ FUSE wire as shown in the picture.

I downloaded Yanhua ACDP2 PC software from the Yanhua ACDP site but failed to install it on a Windows 10 laptop.

 How to read pin code for Harley Davidson motorcycle for all keys lost? Here we introduce 2 ways to read pin code.

Method 1: Extract pin code from BCM file

Reading eeprom 25L160 allows reading pin needed to start engine without special diag equipment.

You have to remove and disassemble BCM module from Harley motor.

This module is also difficult to open because the very thin plastic and silicone hold it tightly.

It is a control module out of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. We will try to read it on the table. Here is the main processor.

This is the eeprom chip.

We try to read the chip data using xhorse vvdi prog.
We first try the eeprom andn clip adapter but it failed to read under 25LC160B (CLIP) option.

Then we desolder and solder the eeprom chip to the eeprom socket.

Choose EEPROM/FLASH-Microchip- 25LC160A

VVDI Prog reads eeprom successfully this time.

You have to read it again and read it a few times and verify because it is important to check if each reading is not different.

Then post dump to MH or DK or somewhere else to have someone to extract the pin code from the BCM dump file 25L160.

Then you can program key with the pin code.

Method 2: with OBDSTAR tool

Get a tool which can read PIN from Harley motorbike by diagnostics. It shows the pin very fast.

For example, OBDSTAR MS80 or the cheaper special Harley model OBDSTAR iScan Harley programmer.

It will read pin code easily.

Go to Harley software, select Special function, and input password 123 to unlock special functions. Then read pin code. Enable network connection to read pin code. It extracts pin very fast. Program key with the pin in OBDSTAR directly.

In this way you don’t need to disassemble BCM module.

We will show how to repair BMW FRM Footwell Module with CG100/CG100X programmer automatically.

FRM3 module (Footwell Module) is used on: ​ BMW E81, E82, E84, E87, E89, E90, E91, E92, E93, E70, E71, E72 series and Mini R55, R56, R57, R58, R59, R60, R61 series.

Symptoms of failed Footwell Module are all of the below: Light switches do not work Windows do not go up or down Few lights like parking lights are constantly on Indicators do not work interior lights do not switch on.

We repair the module with multiple tools. Here is an example of using CG100. CG100X does the same thing.  vvdi prog reads & write but not repair like CG100 does.  cg100 is absolutely brilliant for BMW FRMs.

This module is corrupt. Open the FRM, take out the circuit board.

Connect FRM module with CG100 using a special FRM clip adapter.
CG also has a special BMW FRM solder-free adapter. Better use their own adapter or just solder wires.

We are now connected to our FRM with special clip adapter.

We go to BCM->BMW->FRM -> E series-> 9S12XEQ384 (3M25J)

Confirm connection and press Start to read data.

Need to connect a power supply and make sure battery voltage does not go low or drops out.

Reading chip Dflash successfully.

Turn off power supply.

Save data.

CG100 asks if we want yo repair it. Press Yes, then it will repair FRM module automatically.

Repair data in progress, don’t disconnect.

Write eeprom

Repair FRM3 module successfully.

Done frm3 repair.

 Problem:

When I was using Autel IM608 II to program BMW and trying to update the G-BOX3, it failed and prompted:

“Update GBOX error! Press OK to retry. Otherwise, press Cancel.”

Here’s the error page, any ideas?

Solution

1. Power off and power on the Autel G-BOX3 again, reconnect the cables & engine module for reading more times. Try a few more times.

2. If the step1 does not work, please upload the data log for help.

Launch X431 ECU Programmer clone GM Buick 6T45 Gearbox TCU on bench successfully.

Select Chevrolet Cruze 2008-2019 6T45 gearbox TCU.

Choose Bench mode.

Check wiring diagram. 

Connect Launch X431 ecu programmer with TCM.

Connect TCM. 

Read flash.

Disconnect.

Change a donor 6T45 gearbox and connect the TCU with Launch ecu programmer.

Connect donor TCU.

Back up flash data of the donor TCU.

Write flash data to the donor TCU.

Don't forget to press disconnect after completed.
