Possible to Clone VAG Audi MED17 EDC17 ECU with Hextag?
Can Hextag clone Audi MED17.1.1 ECU? Does the immo and everything transfer or is there something i should worry about?
Bench mode no go, error 16a-
Boot mode getting this error
Suggestion:
For some yes , VAG with OTP protection forget it. Forget clone method but several people can transfer those things into another ecu.
Hextag can transfer data but VAG ecu’s have immo in OTP portion so even after transfer the data from one ecu to donor, have to sync immo in donor ecu or make immo off from donor ecu flash to work.
The OTP sectors are in the processor, not the eeprom. Swapping eeprom DOES NOT work for med17. You need to transfer/modify data.
Need flash and eeprom of both ecu’s to generate new eeprom with valid immo-data and write it back.
In VAG Group MED17 Or EDC17 ECU never one to one clone at any tool. Best solution is to transfer immo-data from original (mac-cs -vin and pin … ) to donor ECU and start your car.

How to Pair VCI100 VCI200 with Autel Ultra?
How can I pair my maxisys elite vci100 with autel maixsys ultra? ultra vcmi is a bit big for just pulling codes.
Here’s instruction:
VCI100/VCI200 makes it easier than trying to go out and plug it into an OBD, also take the opportunity to update the VCI at the same time.
Connect the VCI to the ultra with USB, have it powered up, then go to the VCI Manager menu in MaxiSysk, click on BT connection on the left side.
If the V100/V200 is plugged into a car, it will show up here.
Wait for the Scantool defined VCI’s Serial number and then click connect.
Should show paired/connected when you’re all finished.
Try going to the android settings first then go to Bluetooth find the VCI and then pair in the android settings.
The older VCI100 don’t support the latest protocols.
You’ll loose DoIP abilities.
You’d need to buy the VCI200 to get these latest protocols.

Ford F150 17 18 Parameter Reset with Autel IM508 IM608
Anyone has any luck with 2017 or 2018 Ford f150 parameter reset?
Tried on a 17 f150 and it gets to 100% and autel im608 sets security access failed.
It doesn’t even ask for a login. The option is there on the immo side but doesn’t ask for a login or anything.
Keep your IM608 with the newest update. There was an update for 2018+ parameter reset ability. The newest update confirmed fixed that issue.
Quick update on this, truck came back today and parameter reset went through and everything worked. Took about 20ish mins for the parameter reset but it worked. So it isn’t dealer only.

This can be also done by J2534 with OEM subscription. The VCI of the IM608 can act as your j2534 but you still need the software downloaded from motorcraft and pay them to use. You must be a member of NASTF.
You use FDRS or FJDS depending on which vehicle you are working on.
FJDS only supported pcm tcm and couple of other modules for programming and reprogramming. No diagnostic and special functions are available.

'I am going to go through different features of the new CG FC200 I purchased recently. It doesn't have a lot of features but it's got a few useful features. There are things that I like and things that I don't like.
I'm not trying to knock any product but it's a useful unit. It could have been better thro.
It’s a brand new unit. That anything that comes out for the first time usually has room for improvement.
Let’s not jump the gun because they have already updated to another version already.
Cg is a very good company I’m not going to knock them.
Software is simple, clean and easy to use. They does not have many Japanese ECU information. Like Honda, it has a few models Accord, Civic, but they don't have a lot 2.0, 2.2 anything V6 engine.
We know it is mostly for bosch ECUs.
I hit one diagram on the Honda and it shows me the wiring diagram. I could identify modify all that good stuff. everything is there one diagram.
I want to show you guys a unique feature that i like.
You see this little tab right here next to the search. Hit that little tab and then it's going to pull up another screen here in your microsoft words.
You could see where you could read an obd, bench and boot all the cars on one side. You have the ECU's and they tell you whether you can read them in obd, bench or boot and functions read/writer dflash, pflash, password etc. It tells you the capability for that ecu.
Only thing is that's disappointing at this time for me is that only some bmw has obd. So with this unit you have to take the ecu or dme or whatever out of a car.
You go back down there, hit microsoft words and you're right back so you could look up the ecu number.
It comes right let's tap on and it comes right up here.
You know and everything is right there. You can look at the ecu number for the mini and Mitsubishi and everything you could do, read flash write the flash, all of that you know it tells you all this information here and everything us at your fingertip by just hitting that one little button.
What i have done so far:
did 17c50 and checksum did online...need wait for a 10seconds
read and write if isn and vin for N55 and N29 ECU were successful.

Mostly Bosch ECU and some siemens old ECUs
Only some bmw ecu can be done via obd.
Don’t have a lot of Japanese ECUs (siemens or denso ecus)
Worth buying FC200?
Depends on what is the main purpose of your buy. Could be useful for BMW ISN from Ecu or maybe for some Ecu cloning, but only some of them because most of MEDC17 needs adaption of OTP and password or immo transfer for successful cloning.
If there is checksum correction, this tool will be a very good tool. Let's wait for the feature updates.

Error: Chip is locked and cannot be read. For write, erase unlock first.
Solution:
you can also read dflash with vvdi prog or xprog, orange 5 or UPA.
When you read dflash you need to upload here to extract eeprom. https://tlvps.tomvanleeuwen.nl/frm/ then write back eeprom to frm partition.
Autel IM608 Update Keeps on Renew Screen Solution
I couldn't update my Autel IM608. I hit the renew button and it jumped to the renew screen. Update function been like this for an hour now? Server problems? Have fine Wi-Fi connections! Any suggestions?
Solution:
This started happening after the last system update.
Update: working now, after a restart and Wi-Fi on/off
After the tablet reset, it now works.
For those who have the same problem. Force close the device and start again. All good.

Code Cannibal and OBDSTAR Which to Buy?
Code cannibal and obdstar x300 dp plus (key master dp plus) is based on same system but still have a few differences thou.
Similarities:
- based on same system, same immo software
- They are the first tools to do GM 2021 and ford 2021 when they came out.
- both can do 2021 chevy trucks with the new GM CAN FD adapter.
- The ford bypass cable is much better then the way autel has you do it.
Differences:
- Code cannibal is based off of the C configuration of keymaster dp plus/x300 dp plus
- Code cannibal comes with the bypass cables. OBDSTAR needs to be purchased separately.
- Code cannibal can't do motorcycle or powerboat immo, but obdstar can. All you do is buy the moto immo adapter set.
- The funny thing is the obdstar that I have the renewal cost $500 and the Code cannibal renewal $700.
- so your money ahead getting the obdstar. and u can always upgrade configuration A to C for $465, and then you have full diagnostic and gm bcm cloning and alot of other stuff like motorcycle immo. can't add any of that with code cannibal.

How to Renew OEM Smart Key with Autel IM608 Pro?

Thank you for helping me change the language of Autel IM508. But my XP400 software version does not have the "Remote" renew function and why? XP400 is well connected. My software version is v3.50. However, i saw there is 'Remote' function on my friend's tablet. Any idea?
Solution:
Remote function here is for Remote renew/unlock. Only XP400 Pro has the Remote renew function. XP400 does not.
Xp400Pro supports key renewal on 11 key types with additional adapters - IMKPA, Key Programming Accessories Kit.
The APB113 renew adapter is included in the IMKPA kit.

I can read the eeprom data and save it.
When i connect the programmer and try to make a dealer key i get the message: The key generation failed, please check if the chip type is correct.
