PCMTuner Flash 1.2.7 Working Update Guide

This new pcmtuner flash upgrade will require you re-activate your device. Check guide below to download and install software.

Firstly, Many thanks to the users for their support and love for PCMtuner.

After the 1.2.7 version update, all users need to download the PCM Suite installation package from the following website and install it.

Please download the PCM Suite installation package and install it from the website (www.tuner-box.com).

You can get the 1.2.7 version of the software. The picture is as shown below:

Double click the desktop to run PCMtuner Flash

Copy the machine code according to the software prompt, and send it to the mailbox (info@tuner-box.com).

Please send the machine code (device ID) together with the serial number on the back of your PCMtuner hardware device to the mailbox to request the activation certificate in order to activate your PCMtuner Flash software. Usually the digital certificate will be returned within 30-40 minutes once we confirm that you are a legitimate user, from Monday to Friday during working hours.

Receive the tuner-box digital certificate and copy it to the folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\PCMtuner Flash). Do NOT modify the name of the digital certificate. The digital certificate name is shown as below.

3. After opening the PCMtuner flash, my computer has no response, and the software has no response.

Answer: Please set your “Region” to English as shown in the picture below, and check the unicode Beta version.

If you can’t open PCMtuner flash normally after all the above steps, it means that there is something wrong with your computer system.

Here is the working solution for people who has problem activating pcmtuner flash 1.2.7 software.

First of all, follow instructions here to send the device ID to info@tuner-box.com and activate pcmtuner with license key.

It’s very simple the mistake we suspect people are making is they are trying rename the licence file when they are being asked to save it on there computers and the minute you rename or alter any of the text or description that it wants to save the file as on your desktop that’s when the problems are starting we have found so the trick here is don’t alter or change the name of the file when saving it because if you do then the license file won’t work and you will have the activation problem despite loading it into the system.

Don’t change lincese name !! name of license it must be (PCMtuner.license). Let the license open with pcmtuner flash. Set up the pcmtuner lincese open with pcmtuner flash, then it will work.

The other mistake that people are making is although its telling you to copy and paste the file into the directory that won’t work either and will causes issues so what we found is if you actually physically move and drag the license file into the directory fully then open the pcm flash software then that also solves the problem as well and it will work perfectly first time every time with the license files if you follow the instructions there.

How to Tell Fiat Marelli and Delphi Remote?

What is the difference between Fiat after-market remote? Looks no difference on the PCB.

Marelli and Delphi are the 2 brand models, of FIAT brand BSI (intelligent service box).

Xxxxx25 is Marelli, xxxxxx2Y where Y is for letter its Delphi

The difference from delphi and Marelli is only the pin used for the push buttons (resistors allocations for buttons).

there is a difference, look closer. There are 2 types of remote, the difference is in an integrated circuit on the PCB: 8 pin IC for cars with Marelli BSI and 10 pin IC for cars with Delphi BSI, they are not interchangeable.

With this information, it should help you a lot.

Tips to program Fiat remote:

Chinese remotes incl. Keydiy and Xhorse keys are not good for Mareli Fiat. Best is to buy 2nd hand original, change PCF and enjoy fully working key without any issues. Or use silca key.

So use original/slica keys for Fiat Marelli type and Chinese key for Delphi system.

Pre-coding a Fiat/Alfa/Lancia remote it’s a thing since years, but you need the right tools to do it.
You have to read Immo data (and Pincode), and from that you can precode a simply PCF7936 only for start the car, or you can precode a remote key with PCF7946, if it’s not precoded or it’s not the right type of remote for that car, the remote will never works.

This Precoding can be done only with AVDI, Autel IM508/IM608, TMPro, SmartPRO, ZedFull, also OBDStar and Lonsdor are pretty good and other diagnostics of this level. No remote can be precoded with clone tools or low level diagnostic tools. These remotes can be reset and reused on another car only swapping the PCF7946 with a new virgin one.
You can also order the key from Dealer, in this case they will arrive already blade-cutted and also pre-coded for your car’s BSI, only need OBD learning.

Done Range rover sport 2007 CEM all keys lost on bench using Xhorse Vvdi Prog and Autel IM608. The CEM is behind the glove box.

I tried with Autel whole job didn’t work I have to use vvdi prog. Autel fail to read then I read with vvdi pro and vvdi2 to program chip after car start then add new remote key by Obd.

Autel didn’t read CEM, read by vvdi prog and after you can use Autel/vvdi2 to load into it and make the key.

In my experience, Autel couldn’t do it. Read CEM, made key, and says ‘Chip Unlock Failed’ when writing back. Original key stopped working, thought user error so repaired the car and tried again on another but came to the same issue, Autel bricked the car when writing back.

Transfer a file from Vvdi to autel via email.

Car starting, you need to write back new file to CEM.

What’s the difference between Lonsdor P series, H series and PH series Toyota/Lexus 8A H smart keys?

Solution:

Yes and you don’t need xp200 but you will need pincode and a genuine oem key. Aftermarket don’t work.

Autel does not read the pin code by OBD. not over obd, need to remove immo on steering and read eeprom, but on same easy when the steering is open can write new key on eeprom.
Read through epprom and write key through EPROM or obd. Smart pro has 50% Chance read pin from obd and write key through obd . Tech2 can write key.

Remove the module under the seat

Read immo data

Get pin #

Write key data

Use pin # to adapt to car

You can read immo data with vvdi prog, mini prog or other programmers

VVDI2 won’t do this. File is not supported.

You need to get the key learning code out of the PAS module. You won’t get OBD comms with the alarm active.

How to Set up Vediamo 4.02.02 with Tactrix Openport?

You cannot use Vediamo 5 with Tactrix openport 2.0 because 5 does not support passthru so you need to install Vediamo 4 with openport (Check Openport Xentry Pros & Cons).

Here are the tips on installing and configuring Vediamo with OpenPort 2.0 + trendy Agility mode.

Found on the Internet the Vediamo v04.02.02. and Vediamo Data files (password for archives 123). It is in this version of Vediamo that Part J is supported, i.e. the ability to connect PassThru devices.

To do this, change the device name (DeviceName) in the slave.ini file (C:\Program Files\Vediamo\Caesar\drivers). Since I already have drivers for OpenPort 2.0 on my laptop and the DAS Xentry program is installed, I just followed the path (C:\ProgramData\Mercedes-Benz\config\Xentry\caesar\driver\slave.ini) and copied from the file slave.ini section “J” data. It turned out like this: DeviceName=“Tactrix Inc. – OpenPort 2.0 J2534 ISO/CAN/VPW/PWM”

After that, on the Vediamo server tab, I pressed UPDATE, unchecked all the checkboxes and left only a checkmark in front of point J.

After all the manipulations, the Vediamo program saw OpenPort 2.0, but refused to connect to the car. It turns out that by default I have the KLine connection type in the Vediamo settings, so I did this: I went to Ecoute, selected the EGS52.CBF file I needed from the Vediamo Data folder, then right-clicked on the line displaying the EGS52-<basisvariante> (KLine 1 OpenPort 2.0 J2534, etc.), clicked on the properties item and changed the connection type from KLine 1 to CANHS1 and got the line EGS52-<basisvariante>(CANHS 1 OpenPort 2.0 J2534, etc.) .

Vident iLink400 GM Review on Hummer H3

I came across this plug-and-play vident ilink400 gm scanner last week while looking for 1 to recommend to others. I contacted the seller and she assured me it would also program key fobs for the Hummer H3 2007. I just verified with 2 new fobs I bought on ebay fobs 2/$10 (with tax) shipped. All fobs have to be programmed at the same time(only had 1 oem fob, now 3), and all 3 fobs work perfectly. I have the Snap-off scanners (2 of them) and was unable to program the aftermarket key fobs after multiple attempts.

Another solid reason to purchase this scanner if your a true DIY’er.
Went to replace front brakes on another 2006 H3 today.
What was supposed to be a quick pad slap and caliper service turned into and entire front brake replacement. Pads, 2 Calipers and 2 rotors.
As life would have it, it appears the front calipers were not working at all and I am suspecting that 50% of the pistons were seized.

Turns out, you cannot bleed the brakes on the H3 without a scanner to perform the auto brake bleed for the ABS module which by chance is part of your Master cyl another genius idea by GM
Thankfully this scanner proved its worth again!

Actually, you do if you remove lines from the ABS module to replace them thus losing all the fluid or if the reservoir runs dry.
A scanner with ABS bleed came in quite handy when I needed it. Didn’t even know my scanner had that feature until I investigated in the owners manual. Lucky my scanner had that ABS feature.

It has the same capabilities of the Tech2. Just plug and play, navigate. scan all modules, look at live data..etc. Only downside is the processor is a bit slow, yet for the price I paid ($149) I will not complain.

This vident link400 scanner is also packed full of other functions/capabilities. Excellent deal. It reads and erases Diagnostic Trouble Codes from most (if not all) electronically controlled systems, including Engine, ABS, Airbag, Automatic Transmission, Immobilizer, Climate Control, etc.

The GM Tech II & SNAP-ON SOLUS scanners cost thousands. I sold all my scanners except 1, I will keep this vident scanner and sell my other.

Btw, 1 trip to the dealer/auto repair shop, for diagnostics will cost more than a quality scanner!
Also, saves a lot of money for the parts throwers.
