SPS Programming: J2534, mangoose pro or GM MDI?
I buy online SPS programming, connect via j2534. VIN reading OK, but when I try program no matter which module I have E4399 error.
Abrites j2534 won’t work with SPS GDS2 and car from 2014 I think. I need to buy MDI multiple diagnostic interface or something else?
Just information for you to make a wise purchase of GM scan tools for SPS programming: (here, I focus on SPS GDS2 on Abrites j2534 and GM MDI)
In the past ( few years ago when I bought my AVDI )
When I bought my tool I used Global Tis v32 and was able to do SPS Programming in my Y20DTH that I have at my desk for tests. All went OK.
After a while during a year of AMS I received the new drivers but because I didn’t like how the AVDI is working and because I make some money using it I dece to upgrade to genuine OEM tool for the brands that AVDI can work.
After a while I bought a genuine MDI.
And after years I did the tests because my friend who has a issue doing SPS Programming. And he asked me to check if its ok at me. And using same ecu that I did SPS Programming alright in the past then now was blocked. So I did and had the same issues as him.
He because has the AMS he received the new drivers after he talked with Abrites company.
For me AVDI its did it job long time ago and I don’t need to buy a new AMS. So I am using when I do what “she” can do.

My friend asked Abrites to fix this issue and they sent to him new drivers versions and then he could do a SPS Programming as well.
But take care this is not working in any ecu.
So my advise for you is to buy a good GM MDI but not VXDIAG VCX Nano and you will be fine.
In my opinion for GM cars and if you wanna do SPS Programming and diagnostics using Tech2win and GDS2 the better is a GM MDI – a genuine or good clone one, or a cheaper cable like a genuine or good clone Mongoose GM Pro2
Or a J2534 tool that its approved by GM.
Maybe for diagnostic AVDI is still good but for programming it will not for sure. But if you wish it you can use it and when you will block first ecu you will remember my opinion.
AVDI I hadn’t used anymore for diagnostic so I cannot tell you if its ok to use it in newer car with GDS2. Actually I have no new drivers for a long.
I just want to show you my experience and tell you my opinion. The decision is yours.

That is,
If you want to do ECU programming or SPS programming, you’d better have a GM MDI interface with Global TIS.
If you need program new keys (only online with GDS2 and Tech2win), it depends.
If you have a new car or pickup truck after the year 2010, you have 3 options: MDI interface, Mangoose cable, Nano;
If you have an old car or pickup truck, you have one more option, Tech 2. That is, 4 options for the old GM vehicles: MDI, Mangoose, Nano and Tech 2.
If you want to have a diagnostic test on GM vehicles, you can have any tool with GDS2 or Tech2win or TIS2000. Clearly, all tools above can be used for GM diagnosis.

How to solve Lonsdor K518 Update Failed Error by APK Flash
Problem:
I was trying to update Lonsdor K518ISE, it stops at 31% and give me error “Update failed , APK Version : V1.5.17”
Solution:
Flash the APK following steps below:

How to Setup ELM327 Bluetooth for Android Devices
What you need:
- ELM327 Bluetooth OBD2 Scanner
- Android Device (Phone or Tablet)
- Car Diagnostic App for Android
SAFETY WARNING: Never start and run your engine inside of a closed garage. Always make sure there is good ventilation to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide fumes are produced by your engine’s exhaust gases.
1. Locate your car’s OBDII diagnostic port and plug in your scanner. The location will vary on each car, but it’s usually found within arm’s reach under the driver’s side dashboard, under the steering wheel.
2. Turn on your ignition by turning your key to the 2nd turn. The engine will be off, but this provides power to your dash lights, radio and also the OBDII diagnostic port.
3. From your Android Smartphone or tablet, go to your SETTINGS, then WIRELESS & NETWORKS, then BLUETOOTH SETTINGS. Turn on Bluetooth, scan for the nearby devices and pair your phone with the scanner.
The name of the scanner will vary depending on the model: Examples would be OBDII, OBD-II, VLink, ELM327, OBD2,
The default password is 1234.
4. Open your preferred app. I will use the Torque app as an example. Go to the Settings page by pressing the Menu button on your device. Then go to “OBD2 Adapter Settings”, then “Choose Bluetooth Device”, and then select the paired Scanner. This step is critical because the App won't know to detect the ELM327 Scanner and it won't connect to the ECU!
5. Go back to the App’s main menu and it will begin establishing a connection with the scanner. All 4 icons will be solid blue when it’s connected (Torque).
Tips for Bluetooth Pairing Issues:
- Make sure the scanner is plugged into the OBDII Port and ignition is on
- Unpair any existing Bluetooth devices such as a headset or speaker
- If the password 1234 doesn’t work, try 12345 or 0000
- Turn off Bluetooth, turn it back on and re-scan for Bluetooth devices
- Unplug and plug in the Scanner from the OBDII port, then re-scan for Bluetooth devices

- Make sure the paired OBD2 scanner is selected within the app’s settings if it won’t connect (see step 3)
- Restart the Application

How to Make Xprog V5.84 read Serial EEPROM
Problem:
My Xprog V5.84 fail to read serial eeprom, don’t give eeprom options.
Error “For information, please refer to xprog-m users manual”

Xprog v5.84 default software CD does not have eeprom capabilities which is different from previous version V5.74/5.60/5.55 etc
But the new v5.84 software has modified the software to enable eeprom reading.

then the laptop got the upgrade to windows 10 with no reported problems,
this laptop is full of my everyday crap and i never turn off the security when i connect to van.
maybe ive just been lucky as i dont know to much about computers,
all the bosch stuff is there and calibrations .
i accidentaly updated to the v94 once from ford then system restord the laptop to previous setting
and it ran saying it was v94 with no problems with licence or anthing

I’m still on v86 i just updated to w10 and all my stuff from w7 was there still so i never installed anything, i did upgrade the Ford vcm 2 via vci manager tho but since then it is giving me the usb bongs to say it isn’t connected but I’ll look into that.
I believe that if you install v9x and go over the 3 days then you need to wipe the laptop and start again, that’s if you don’t install the freeze program that is which makes sense, but until i get a custom or mk8 i think it is pointless tbh:-(
