INPA used the same loader both for N43 and N53 series engines. Thereby – if the N43 series engine is diagnosed, some questions regarding menu, where the performance of injectors/cylinders is displayed, arise.
For example, ../F5/Shift + F6/F1 in INPA software looks like this:
Question: which cylinder is who in the picture (as you see, for example, cylinders No.2 and No.4 are displayed as inactive)?
Firing order of 6 cylinder engine: 1/5/3/6/2/4

2) xprog v5.55 v5.60 or above with mc9s12 bdm adapter
3) sticked dump of ci37 (eeprom virgined, need to be coded after installing ecu to car)

Autel MaxiSys or Auro OtoSys IM100?
Autel MaxiSys Elite? MS906? MS906BT? Auro OtoSys IM100 IM600?, which is better for key programming?
I like the im100. It does a good job on keys. The diagnostics portion is lacking. You get all systems on all makes for read and erase codes. Some special functions but not like the autel. The choice between the two i guess Depends on what you do . For me I don't just do keys. Even when I do I grab the autel first when I know it will do a certain key. For chrysler or vw I grab the im100 . If you do keys only the im100 is a good start. If your looking for the most bang for your buck the autel 100 percent is better.
The Autel maxisys elite is a waste of money because with the exception of bmw and Mercedes online coding the 906bt or ts does the exact same diagnostic/ key programming and coding . The im 100 is a good tool but will still fall short on some vehicles. I program about 70 percent of my keys with the autel ms906bt. The im 100 does the same programming key wise except it will pull pin codes. The maxisys will not.
What is better the im600 or maxisys elite ?
it totally depends on what you're using it for. If you do more keys the Im if you're doing more coding and diagnostics the maxisys . I just got one a month ago and am trying it out . So far im600 seems a pretty good tool for a mechanic with experience (I've been wrenching the last 50 years myself.) So far I'm pretty happy with the unit, but of course, only time will tell.
If I am going to buy a Autel 906bt would I need this to do keys as well. Is this better at keys than the 906?
It depends. The autel is great for keys. The auro just adds a little more options especially for certain european cars but the autel will do a lot when it comes to adding keys and remotes. I personally wouldn't jump into buying both. Id start with the autel . See how often you use it for keys and what you can and can't do then decide if it's worth the extra price. 90 percent of the keys i do or get called for are the every day gm ,Chrysler, nissan , toyota and especially honda laser cuts (.they are notorious for breaking in half) . The autel does them all very well. Depending on my work load the harder stuff like mercedes and bmw cas keys i usually way overprice them or turn down the job just because i know i'm going to be there for a couple hours and in that time i can make triple on easy jobs. Sorry for the long response. My point. Stick to the easy everyday cars that you can cut , program and be gone in 30 minutes and the autel will be perfect.
Is it better then Autel for key programming?
Quite a bit better. Well not better it just does a lot more on immobilisers . Pull pin codes, guided or automatic programming. Key reading/ writing . Auro IM100 is a pretty good tool I can tell you that. I'm still trying to figure out everything it does but I'm totally impressed so far. Won't do Mercedes but it's awesome for vw, Audi and Chrysler. IM600 does the Mercedes capabilities, you can check youtube video guides.

it works. (several times).
PSA & FVDI -bsi bricking- has to do with the car going into "economy mode" during operation....
i believe there is a way to prevent the car to go into economy mode...i am not sure.
backup bsi eeprom (jci_bsi_xxxx.bin) in case the bsi gets locked. (i don't think its ever bricked...rather locked)

- disconnect lights
- remove fuse 13 (or 14) from BSI
(fvdi 2015 china is a great tool but a little risky.. You better get FVDI 2018 which is much more stable than 2015 version. )
How to setup ISTA on MacBook Pro for BMW coding
Here are the details of my setup of MacBook Pro with VW Fusion – Windows 10 or Bootcamp, both working for BMW coding with ICOM software.
Hardware: 2015 Retina Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD
Software: VMWare Fusion 10
VM Specs:
Windows 10 64Bit
4GB RAM
Thinly provisioned 200GB VM. (Thin means it only takes the space it is using but Windows thinks it is 200GB total.)
Software working on VM:
BMW Standard Tools 2.12 (NCSexpert, WinFKP, INPA, etc)
ISTA-D (Dealership Diagnostic Software, I did not install ISTA-P due to space concerns)
E-Sys (For newer Fxx/Gxx/Ix cars)
I back up my VM on an external hard drive and I take snap shots of the VM in case upgrades to the software fails and breaks.
I am very happy with this setup.
Another option instead of VM fusion is to bootcamp the mac. That’s what I’ve done also. It partitions the hard drive into separate drives, allowing you to boot the Mac up into windows natively. Then used bimmergeeks.com software packages. It’s very clear and easy to understand. It’s also been condensed some and has the most recent updates in place….just make sure you have enough HD storage in general before doing any of this…and get a good cable such as the cable off http://www.obdii365.com/wholesale/bmw-inpa-k-can-with-ft232rq-chip.html…don’t want to mess around with crappy cheap amazon cables.
BootCamp
Pros:
- Free + windows 10 license
- All system resources are utilized by Windows only.
- Acts like a windows machine
Cons:
- Requires permanent space allocated to BootCamp
- Requires rebooting if you ever want to go back to Mac
- Unable to write into MacOS side of things without 3rd party drivers
VM
Pros:
- Snapshots
- Space allocated is only like a file, so free space is still utilized by Mac
- No need to restart to get into Windows for something.
Cons:
- Not free, and annual upgrades start to cost a lot
- Shares resources with MacOS which can be limited if the Mac doesn’t have enough RAM, CPUs etc.
- A little more complicated in initial setup sometimes.
Both have its merits and I ultimately like VMs when the mac has enough resources to run it.
